A Community of Culture

A Community of Culture fashion show took place at VICCI Nightclub Spetember 28th, 2007. The show was produced by Cameron Collins and Lezlie Rodgers. The focus of the fashion show was to showcase local Austin boutiques, promoting “shop local”, while enhancing a local Charity, Garza Green. Garza Green is a non-profit organization created by Martha Cason of Garza High School. It is a horticulture program where students participate in hands-on learning by growing produce and herbs. Portions of the harvested goods are served to the students in Garza cafeteria, which cuts cost and helps to sustain a healthy lifestyle. The rest of the products are marketed and sold every Wednesday at the farmer’s market. Our goal is to raise enough money to supplement the Garza Green initiative. “A Community of Culture” fashion show showcased all the diverse trends Austin offers including 7 different genre themes: Super Trendy, Hippie Chic, Punk, Cowboy, Preppie, and Hip Hop.
